Xavier Rudd am 23. August 2024 @ Arena Wien - Open Air.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Xavier Rudd stands out as a distinctive and influential force in roots music. His musical journey transcends mere melodies, evolving into a spiritual journey deeply rooted in his profound connection to the earth and his ancestral heritage, celebrating themes of community, culture, and the inherent human bond with the planet.

Embarking on his musical voyage with the landmark 2002 album „To Let,“ this distinctly Australian-looking musician, activist and surfer immediately resonated with a global audience. His live performances have earned widespread acclaim, characterised by his signature acoustic guitar mastery and a rich tapestry of didgeridoos and percussion. His current solo show showcases his immense talent and power as a multi-instrumentalist, triggering samples, live looping, and often playing several instruments at once.

Anticipating a new EP in early 2024, featuring recent singles like „Free the People,“ „Road Trippin‘,“ and „High Times“ from 2023, Rudd continues to push boundaries. In 2021, Xavier released his critically acclaimed tenth studio album, „Jan Jun Moon,“ showcasing his boundless creativity through a fusion of natural sounds and trippy analog synthesisers. The artist also wrapped up successful European tours in 2022 and 2023, performing at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Pinkpop, and Rock Werchter.

The past 18 months have seen Rudd’s achievements reach new heights. He clinched the Australasian Performing Right Association Award (APRA Award) for Most Performed Blues & Roots Work for the stunning single „We Deserve To Dream“ and secured the 2023 Environmental Music Prize. He won the publicly voted award for his 2021 single ‘Stoney Creek’ ahead of acclaimed Australian artists such as Tash Sultana, Midnight Oil, Ziggy Alberts and more.
